Uplift marginalized communities through educational and health care programming
Initiatives and Programs
Urban Pledge is dedicated to reducing the health and economic disparities in underserved minority communities. We pledge to increase economic opportunities in our local communities through education and job training for adults. We pledge to provide a range of services to support seniors, individuals with disabilities, and Veterans thrive in their communities.
COVID-19 Response
We are focused on assisting those hardest hit by COVID-19 with economic recovery and community networking opportunities. We will support “back to work” initiatives by awarding course scholarships to those interested in a career change. We are aware that COVID-19 has created a barrier to access social services from the county and state. We are offering guidance and access to computers to individuals looking to apply for unemployment, medicaid, charity care, & NJ Snap benefits. COVID-19 has interrupted the support systems that seniors and disbaled citizens depend on. Urban Pledge has begun a social impact initiative that makes weekly calls to vulnerable members of our community. These calls provide emotional connections and identify any urgent needs. Urban Pledge will help them secure essential items such as food, personal care items, and cleaning items. We continue to partner with other community organizations to ensure our neighbors are safe and protected
